His academic journey began in the natural sciences, earning a master’s degree in ichthyology in 1972 while carrying out scientific research at the University of Cologne. During the 1980s, he immersed himself in photography and photo collages, showcasing his work in private exhibitions across Cologne. In the 2000s, he turned to writing, authoring fiction, poetry, and an autobiography, which he accompanied with his own custom illustrations. Since 2010, his primary focus has shifted to creating surrealistic mixed-media paintings with distinct relief-style textures.
